You know things are not going well at the top of the ticket in a given state when major figures on the rest of the ballot start skipping rallies. Such was the case today, according to the Washington Post.
Coleman told reporters that he would not be appearing at a planned rally with McCain this afternoon. Could it be McCain's sliding polling numbers in Minnesota? His attacks on Obama? Coleman said he needs the time to work on suspending his own negative ads.
In other words, he had towash his hair that night. I don't know if McCain is sinking there or whether he did not want to be part of a mob scene. But either way you cut it, he did not want to be seen next to his party's presidential ticket.
